Book Club!

Yesterday, I spoke to two wonderful ladies, Chelly and Alyssa Marie, who are UConn alumni (Go Huskies!!) and lovers of literature. As we were going back and forth on twitter I said 'we so need a book club' and the ladies agreed! I'm thrilled about this idea because there's always that climatic part of a novel when you want to tap of your friends on the shoulder and say 'Ohhh my goshhh!! I can't believe this!' So now I'll have that opportunity. I'm going to start a section in my blog for the Book Club so we have a running list of the books we're reading. If anyone is interested in joining just comment below. I'm in chapter 4 for A Thousand Splendid Suns so feel free to buy the book and catch up to me. Also, if you have any book suggestions email me at ErikaKimberlywrites@gmail.com. I'm open to anything, so don't be shy with your suggestions.

One thing I'm going to make an effort to do with every book I read is a book review from my perspective as a writer and then I want to generate a discussion based on a theme or idea the author conveys in the work. What we read comes from the world around us and I never want to lose sight of that. Every books represents a world some people may live in, have lived in, or will journey to in the future. I think it will be really fun and beneficial to explore these worlds together...

Happy reading :o)

I am loving this. You are a writing inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing. :)
I am in a book club back in Fayetteville and even though it has slowly turned into a "lets just talk and eat dinner" club, its one of the highlights to my week. :)
I love you.

Awesome idea. Currently I don't join book clubs because I don't know if I'll catch up with their reading goals, on top of the reading and writing goals I already have. I love getting people's opinions on blogs and Goodreads, though. And even in person I catch people who've read the same books and we discuss them.
